Nakuru Campus Library is located on the 6th Floor of the Great Rift Plaza (GRP) in the City of Nakuru. Its setting has an ambiance that is conducive for learning and study. Access to information is easy and all titles are easily retrievable. The library is well ventilated with all sections well defined and labeled.

Books Allowed for Borrowing

Undergraduate : Maximum of 4 books for 14 days
Postgraduate : Maximum of 4 books for 30 days
Staff : Maximum of 4 books for 30 days

NOTE: All books are renewable once online via https://opac.mku.ac.ke

Library Sitting Capacity

The sitting capacity of the library is 600 users with a service capacity of 1000 users per day.

E-resources

Mount Kenya University subscribes to forty-seven (47) e-resource databases through the Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC). The library users have access to various databases through specifically assigned user names and passwords. Some databases are also automatically link through the MKU IP address; the e-resource platform is MyLoft.

ICT infrastructure

The library is automated using the KOHA library management information system. The system has both library user and staff interface intergraded for efficient and effective services and operations. Nakuru campus library is a member of the MKU Union catalogue, which is web-based. All library users can access it via internet and Wi-Fi services.
