Welcome to Malindi ODEL Center Library. The library adheres to the requirements set forth by the Commission for University Education (CUE) for the creation of an academic library. The University Library, which is situated on the main campus in Thika, shares the same vision, mission and objectives as the Campuses and ODEL libraries.

Physical Library

  • Monday to Friday : 8.00 AM – 6.00 PM
  • Saturday : 9.00 AM  – 2.00 PM
  • Sunday & Public holidays : CLOSED

Digital Library

Books Allowed for Borrowing

Undergraduate : Maximum of 4 books for 14 days
Postgraduate : Maximum of 4 books for 30 days
Staff : Maximum of 4 books for 30 days

NOTE: All books are renewable once online via https://opac.mku.ac.ke

Library Collection 

Collection development policy of the library is informed by courses offered in the University and materials are regularly updated. The total stock is 1,826 print volumes and thousands of e-journals and eBooks available online. Our information resources are current, diverse and relevant. The library provides varied, authoritative and up-to-date information resources including past papers in support of most academic programs offered by Mount Kenya University.

Library Space

The library’s space comprises of the reading area, e-learning and periodical section. It is enabled with a Wi-Fi and fitted with electrical accessories for use. Its surroundings provide a favorable environment for learning and studying. The information hub is simple to use, and the stack area makes all titles accessible.
