We have been operating well giving outstanding services to our users since inception in September 2019 after relocation from Nkubu town. The library adheres to the requirements set forth by the Commission for University Education (CUE) for the creation of an academic library. The University Library, which is situated on the main campus in Thika, shares the same vision, mission and objectives as the Campuses and ODEL libraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Service Hours<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Physical Library<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday to Friday : 8.00 AM \u2013 6.00 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday : 9.00 AM \u2013 1.00 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sunday during examination\u2019s 2:00PM -5:00PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sunday &amp; Public holidays : CLOSED<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Digital Library<\/strong> \u00b7 The Digital Library is operational 24\/7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Books Allowed for Borrowing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Undergraduate<\/strong>: Maximum of 4 books for 14 days <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Postgraduate<\/strong>: Maximum of 4 books for 30 days <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Staff<\/strong>: Maximum of 4 books for 30 days <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: All books are renewable once online via https:\/\/opac.mku.ac.ke<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Library Collection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The library\u2019s collection is based on the university\u2019s course offerings, and it is regularly updated. The total stock is 2168 print volumes and thousands of e-journals and eBooks. Resources for information are diverse, current, and pertinent. Mount Kenya University Meru Campus serves all upper Eastern Region of Kenya that covers a geographical scope of five (5) counties. These counties are Isiolo, Marsabit, Samburu, Meru and Tharaka-Nithi. The Library provides a wide range of authoritative and up-to-date information resources to support all academic programs offered by Mount Kenya University and for personal study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Library Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The library was founded with the goal of promoting and upholding a broad range of high-quality services that complement the University\u2019s Vision and Mission. Among them are;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Digital Library services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>User Services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reference and information services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Circulation services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current Awareness services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information literacy service<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Library Space<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The library has a seating capacity of 80 comprising of the reading area and e-learning section. Its surroundings provide a favorable environment for learning and studying. The information hub is simple to use, and the stack area makes all titles accessible.
