Its setting has an ambiance that is conducive for learning and study. Access to information is easy and all titles are easily retrievable. The library is well ventilated with all sections are well defined and labeled. The sitting capacity of the library is 150 users with a service capacity of 300 per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Library Services Offered.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The library is established to promote, and maintain a wide variety of quality services that support the university\u2019s Vision and Mission. They include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Borrowing and lending Services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current awareness Services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inter-Library loan Services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to online Services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>User Education Services.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Service Hours: Physical Library<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday to Friday: 8.00 AM \u2013 7.00 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday: 9.00 AM \u2013 1.00 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sunday: 9.00 AM \u2013 1.00 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Holidays: CLOSED<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Digital Library<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Digital Library is operational 24\/7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Books Allowed for Borrowing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Undergraduate: Maximum of 4 books for 14 days<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Postgraduate: Maximum of 4 books for 30 days<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff: Maximum of 4 books for 30 days NOTE: All books are renewable once online via https:\/\/opac.mku.ac.ke<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Organization and Access to Information Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Library information resources are organized using the Library of Congress Classification Scheme (LCCS) using the latest version of Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2). The library&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/opac.mku.ac.ke\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Online Public Access Catalogue<\/a> (OPAC) is web-based, thus enabling access by all via the University website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ICT Infrastructure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The library is automated using the KOHA library management system.
