Meru Campus Library

Mount Kenya University Meru Campus Library is located within the center which is housed at the old Telkom building opposite the County Assembly of Meru. We have been operating well giving outstanding services to our users since inception in September 2019 after relocation from Nkubu town. The library adheres to the requirements set forth by the Commission for University Education (CUE) for the creation of an academic library. The University Library, which is situated on the main campus in Thika, shares the same vision, mission and objectives as the Campuses and ODEL libraries.

Books Allowed for Borrowing

Undergraduate: Maximum of 4 books for 14 days

Postgraduate: Maximum of 4 books for 30 days

Staff: Maximum of 4 books for 30 days

Library Collection

The library’s collection is based on the university’s course offerings, and it is regularly updated. The total stock is 2168 print volumes and thousands of e-journals and eBooks. Resources for information are diverse, current, and pertinent. Mount Kenya University Meru Campus serves all upper Eastern Region of Kenya that covers a geographical scope of five (5) counties. These counties are Isiolo, Marsabit, Samburu, Meru and Tharaka-Nithi. The Library provides a wide range of authoritative and up-to-date information resources to support all academic programs offered by Mount Kenya University and for personal study.

Library Space

The library has a seating capacity of 80 comprising of the reading area and e-learning section. Its surroundings provide a favorable environment for learning and studying. The information hub is simple to use, and the stack area makes all titles accessible. The library is well ventilated with all sections well defined and labeled.
